WACO, Texas – Waco-McLennan County Library will be celebrating National Library Weekby hosting several community events the week of April 7-13.

Waco-McLennan County Library plans to follow this year’s national theme: Libraries = Strong Communities. Activities for all age groups will be hosted throughout the week for community members.

“Libraries are one of the places that you connect as a community and they help us share our stories,” Melinda Gates, National Library Week Honorary Chair, said. “They protect our stories. They pass our stories on. And it’s our stories that bind us together.”

Waco-McLennan County Library aims to connect the Waco community with its collection and events.

“I have taken by daughter to the library since she was 6 months old. We started with toddler time,” Amber Adamson, Baylor professor and Waco-McLennan County Library regular, said. “I love the focus specifically on education and reading.”

Waco-McLennan County Library offers a collection of resources which cater to all age groups. The library is a resource which promotes learning and community through its programming.

Throughout National Library Week, Waco-McLennan County Library will be hosting a variety of events including “Romp & Read,” for children ages 2-4, “Yoga Lunch Break,” for adults and “Game On!” for teenagers.

ABOUT WACO-MCLENNAN COUNTY LIBRARY

Waco-McLennan County Library is a local resource aimed at serving the Waco and greater McLennan county community. The library does this by providing free resources such as books, documents, Wi-Fi and computer use. The library hosts events throughout the week every week of the year.
